Despite this week’s holiday, (thank you Labor Day) this week has been a long one. Shortened work weeks seem to always make the days longer as I try to cram in a full week’s worth of work into four days. Nevertheless, it’s Friday so it’s time to rejoice, relax, and sip on a delicious libation.

I can’t take credit for this one… One of the hubs’s buddies who is in the alcohol industry, came into town last weekend. As a result of his profession, he has a hand for crafting delicious cocktails. He prepared this one for me one night and I’m hooked. The trick is all in the ratios.
St. Germain Gin Fizz Cocktail
Makes one drink
2 ounces gin, Hendricks
1 ounce elderflower liquor, St. Germain
1 ounce lemon (approx. one half lemon)
1 ounce club soda
1/2 ounce simple syrup
Sliced cucumber
Freshly ground pepper

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add gin, elderflower liquor, lemon, and simple syrup. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Strain into an ice filled glass. Top with club soda. Garnish with cucumbers and freshly ground pepper.
Drink. Repeat.
